For this project we had to copy selected Monroe photos. We had to edit it the same way as the originals with the same pose and similar clothes. Our model also had to come up with their own quotes and sign for each. This project was really difficult but in the end it all turned out okay.
Take something original and change it to something extraordinary. Change the way people see the world.
Painting mimic
We had to mimic a painting we chose. Above is my photo and below is my painting that I chose. The lighting was really hard to create and I didn't have most of the props but overall it came out good.
Movement Project
For this project we had to take 15 good photos of a topic. I chose surfing. After we took the photos we had to edit them in any creative way. We could use any techniques or editing styles we have learned before to edit these photos. The photos that aren't surfers are mostly not mine, we were allowed to take some off the internet to add into it. These were really hard to complete and edit but it starts with the best ones and goes down to my least favorites. >.<
Surrealism Polaroid Project
For this project I had to take an old photo polaroid and take a present project to match. I also had to add surrealism within the old photo. The inside had to be sepia and the outside black and white. I took an old photo of my cousin and took a picture of the same spot he was sitting on the tile. I put a dragon sitting on his helmet with smoke coming out of it's mouth.
For this photo I had to do the same but in a different place and the inside had to be black and white and the outside sepia. The inside photo is a picture of me, my cousin, and my brother (not in that order). I added wings behind me and my brother and my cousin has an orb on his hand.
Poster Project
Poster 1

Poster 2
Poster 3
For this project I was told to make three posters that defined the word I chose for the previous project that described me. My word was patience. I also had to add a catch phrase, mine is "worth the time". Also I had to add words that represent the meaning I wanted to express. My words are "suppress restlessness", "perseverance", and diligence". For poster one, I had to make it simple so it's straight forward and understandable. The second poster, I had to add the catch phrase and make the photo more complicating as well as keep the word with it. For the last one I had to add the descriptive words that match what I wanted it to mean and make it even more complicated with editing a bunch on Photoshop. I had to incorporate the same word and catch phrase as well without making the photo too confusing. After a lot of editing and more editing I ended up with these three. It was a lot of work but it was "worth the time".
Surrealism
For this project we were assigned to use surrealism and it required a body part(s). My idea was to make it look like my hand and the objects were coming out of a drawing. I needed to blend the drawing with the black in white photo then the black and white photo with the colors. This project took a lot of time to edit and do the transitions. I had to trace the original object on a "paper" on photoshop then erase the layers above it slowly to get the effect. Overall it came out okay, my hand came out the way i wanted it but the objects didn't come out as right. I tried to make the transition look like it was painted with water color. This project was A LOT of work but it looks good. :P
Word project
This project was to take photos with two principles and elements contained in them. Then we had to take two photos of ourselves. Then we had to pick a word that described us and match all the photos with that word. My word is Patient and it is shown with the photos because I am patient enough to wait for my plants to grow and to make T-leaf leis. Both of these photos require patience because it is a lot of work to take care of and weave together. I have the patience to make all the leis with quality and the patience to wait for my plants to grow and nurture them into their adult form. This project explains a characteristic I have and can prove that I am.
Emphasis and Subordination project
Originals
I had to attempt to copy these photos and enhance them on Photoshop.
Mancala board
I enhance the colors and make the black background. The levels were changed to make the stones stick out more then the board. The emphasis is on the front half of the board, subordination on the other.
Crayola Markers
This one took me a while, the markers kept rolling so I had to hold it with my finger and take the picture as soon as i let go. I changed the hues and saturations to make the colors stand out. Focused on the first four markers and the rest are blurred the farther they got.
Monopoly Houses
Had to ask my assistant (my brother) to hold the flashlight to get the right lighting and shadows. I had to edit any marks that were on the white so the focus was on the house. The one closest to the screen is blurred and the rest are as well. I also had to crop this photo so that the first and last were "cut off" of the photo.
Legos
For this photo I used my hallway light, it made the shadows the right way and the colors more brilliant. When editing I had to blur the yellow and blue a little more so the red was more in focus. This one took me a while to get the right angles.
Color Pencils
For this photo I had to sharpen the color pencils to about the same length and position them in a circle which took a lot of time. Instead of Photo tinting the colors I copied the photo and cropped only the tips and layered them on to the black and white. I had to adjust the hues and saturations because the levels made some colors darker or lighter then the rest and it stuck out. I made the focus equally on the colors and the black and white subordinate.
