Zeitgeist

This photo represents Zeitgeist because the weather determines the "spirit of the times". In this photo it is cloudy and is going to rain, this makes people feel down, and sad. It sets the overall spirit during its time above everyone. This photo is at the beach looking inward at the clouds moving over the houses and to the mountains.

Metaphysical

This photo represents Metaphysical because the roots seem "abstract"growing in every which way with coral stuck inside it all and the water coming up through it. It's something most people would pass by and not even notice, it has that artistic feel to it where there could be a deeper meaning behind it. This picture was taken at the beach where a palm tree fell over and the roots grew downward into the sand. 

Stoic

This photo represents stoic because this moth "can endure pain or hardship without showing their feelings or complaining". Life of a moth is hard but they manage to get through the day and survive. To us they don't show feelings or emotions as we chase them away or when we see them flying around. This photo is stoic because most of us don't understand the pain and hardship a moth goes through and they hardly ever show emotions.

 Malevolent

This photo represents Malevolent because the cave seems evil. There is a story that this cave has ghosts inside with hurtful intentions. Also this cave is dark, and ominous looking. I had to fix the coloring and lighting, the original had too much light and was discolored. This is a Malevolent cave with a story of Malevolent ghosts.

 

Outlaw

This photo represents Outlaw because most people consider them to be an outlaw in the house. They are like criminals sneaking into the house, hiding in the shadows, and going around unoticed. When they are caught, we try to find the fastest way to get them out without it jumping at us or running to us.
The photo is a bit blurry, I had to crop it and fix the coloring a little.

Illusion

 

This photo represents illusion because it seems like I am on my knees with my hands on the ceiling but in reality I am lying on the ground and I rotated the photo to make it look like I am in a tight space. You can tell this by looking at the towels hanging behind me.

Esoteric

This photo represents Esoteric because it is my note book that is "private; secret; confidential."Only I have written in it and reread through it. It is a book that has stories of my life and I plan to pass this on before I pass. It has my best and worst days as well as secrets.
 

Cadre

This photo represents Cadre because the fallen tree acts as a frame for the beach view. It frames the top and bottom of this photo and keeps attention in the center.

Knock-out

This photo represents Knock-out because this turtle would look at me every once in a while but it kept sleeping and stayed there the entire time. It came on the beach to rest in the sun from a long tiring day.

Upstart

This photo represents upstart because both rabbits got scared from a loud noise outside. It surprised them and brought them to their feet with their ears perked up. They stood there frozen long enough for me to get this photo.

 Euphoria

This photo represents "Euphoria" because the beach gives me great happiness. I can relax and run away from all the troubles I go through. I can stop thinking about school, about grades, etc. I can just relax and enjoy the day till the sun goes down.

Revolution

This photo represents "revolution" because the moon revolves around the earth and after so many years there is a eclipse; when the moon goes into the earths shadow. It turns red as it goes into the shadow, then white when it comes out. This cycle may take years to repeat which is a good reason why it represents "revolution".

Nexus

This photo represents "nexus" because it is "a means of connection between members of a group or things in a series, link, bond". These critters are a group and they have some kind of link to each other to stay near each other on this coral. They have a tight bond to the rock so it's harder for them to be pulled off by predators.

Toxic

This photo represents "toxic" because this man-o-war stings like a jelly fish and some people are highly allergic to it. When they are on the beach, the life guards, if any, put up signs to warn the people that these are in the water. It's up to the people to either stay off the beach or take the chance and go in. Some people don't even know if they are allergic till they get stung. Stay safe these can be "toxic".

Speed

  

 This photo represents the word "speed" because kite surfing depends on the speed of the wind. The faster it is, the faster you go. This photo contains proportion because it shows how small the person is compared to the ocean. It also contains movement because your eyes move from the surfer to the kite.

I had to edit the colors because the sun was behind the clouds making it look gray. I also had to fix the levels so the ocean and the kite popped out more.

Aplomb

This photo represents "aplomb" because the duckling is being independent, it had swam away from it's mother and the mother had to keep up with it. It has self-confidence to show itself instead of hiding behind it's mother. It has confidence in itself enough to go out and explore instead of hiding from it all.

Gammon

This photo represents the word "gammon". Gammon means deception and the car mirror is a good example because "objects in mirror are closer then they appear". The objects seem farther then normal and it deceives a new driver. It makes the driver think there is a lot of room behind them when there really isn't. The cone in the background helps put it all together, it shows "caution" and to be aware of your surroundings and your car limits.

Repulsion

This Photo represents the word "repulsion" because before I took the photo, I didn't want to go near it at all. This is a photo of a dead moth that I found by my window. I really don't like this photo because I used Emphasis and subordination to get all the details, which grossed me out more. It shows texture, the moth almost looks fuzzy and soft but I still wouldn't touch it to see if it really was. I converted it to black and white to set the sad mood because it's original colors were pretty and gave a happy feeling. With this photo I try not to look too close because I get disgusted. Perfect photo that represents "repulsion" for me.

Independent

This Photo represents "independent" because the bird is all by itself and depends on only itself for food and survival. This bird was searching for bugs to eat from above and I caught it's attention to look my way. I normally see this type of bird with others but for some reason this one was "independent". I had to crop this photo because there were a lot of empty space. I fixed the levels to make the red of it's head pop out more to try and keep the focus in the bird. This photo has movement because the fence makes you look up to the bird, the bird makes you look at the wire running across the photo, and then back to the fence. The bird represents "independence" because it's alone, and depending on itself.

Gonzo

This Photo represents the word gonzo because it's bizarre that there is a ice crystal that looks like a Christmas tree in my water bottle. It is also bizarre that there is only one that formed in that area. I had to set a flashlight down next to it to get the lighting right so you can see it more clearly. In this photo I used Emphasis and subordination to create a focus on the crystal and everything else is blurry. This photo also contains form and shape. The form is of the bottle and the shape is the crystal. It is also proportion because it shows the actual size of the crystal compared to the bottle. It looks very small and is very small. This is a photo of Gonzo because it is a bizarre situation to have only one single crystal formed like a Christmas tree.
